Yesterday I spent the afternoon at the HPV Race in Wonthaggi.  The Human Powered Grand Prix is a two day event involving primary school and secondary school students racing human powered vehicles over a 1.4km street circuit, including a non-stop 24 hour race for senior students.

Now you may think HPVs wouldn’t go very fast but you’re dead wrong.  These aerodynamic human powered bullets rocket around the track often going up onto two wheels as they navigate past their slower competitors.  The race involves teams of 8 people and is a test of endurance for the vehicles and the competitors.
